In 2020, with live entertainment quite limited, my talented friend and neighbor Rich Paganello (on piano) and I (on trumpet) decided to enjoy some jazz practice while offering a live musical interlude to our local community. We live adjacent to parkland; by using Rich's patio as a stage, our music was enjoyed by a reasonable portion of the park (and its inhabitants). I'm happy to say we were well received. As long as the weather cooperated, we played on various weekends throughout the summer and autumn, all the way to Thanksgiving weekend.

Why Berkeley 2+2? Berkeley is a street reference. As for 2+2, Rich and I are the live musicians; the drums and bass are provided, via a quality Bluetooth speaker, using a modern miracle called the iReal Pro app, which plays the drum and bass accompaniment for hundreds of songs. All recorded on an iPhone; the wonders of modern technology.

As long as the weather cooperates, we're back on stage, and everyone seems to be enjoying the musical interlude. I hope you enjoy this selection of tunes!
